Pratically there there is no atmosphere in the moon. Why?

 

On the moon surface, the escape velocity is low(i.e. 24km/s). Generally the air molecules have this much velocity at all conditions and escape out of the gravitational field of the moon. Hence, pratically there is no atmosphere in the moon.
