An artificial satellite revolves round the earth without using any fuel. On the opposite hand, aeroplane requires to fly.why?

 

 A satellite revolves round the earth at a way higher height where air resistance is nearly negligible then it requires no fuel to beat air resistance. 

Also, the satellite is orbiting the world with much higher speed and therefore the necessary force for it's provided by the gravity
